Hi Peter. Just read of your forthcoming departure from Steeleye, and wanted to say what a difference your work with the band (and beyond) has made to my life, good times and bad. Looking forward immensely to the Wintersmith show in Shanklin!

Hi Peter and Debs. I am very much looking forward to hearing in full the Wintersmith album. I am both surprised and pleased that Bob Johnson has written songs for you. Though I know he is no longer an active member of Steeleye, I have always enjoyed his work. Best to you and the band on your upcoming tour. Always, Mark

Recently saw Peter at the Cambridge Folk Festival. Absolutely first class, both in Gigspanner and Steeleye Span.

We have just sat down to play Peter's beautiful new recording, Cobweb, Moth and Mustardseed. It is absolutely amazing, it stirs every emotion. We are both near to tears. The underlying rhythm is so powerful and takes you off into another world. The whole production is a masterpiece, illustrating what we believe, he is the King!
Thank you so much for composing and playing such a special, creative and imaginative piece.

Dear Peter - I enjoyed your masterclass at Les Quatre Saisons very much!!! Thank you for making the improv so exciting and open to all the sounds my fiddle could make. I take away so much from the week which includes an inclination to improvise every time I pick up my fiddle and a greater appreciation of tempo. I will be working with the metronome and learning to do vibrato properly! It was so nice to meet Deborah who is a lovely person. I do hope you will hold a masterclass in France again - soon. If so, I will be there with bells on.
All the best!
Amy
PS I do hope you will send some of the recordings, esp duet.

Saw the Basingstoke gig. Very nice. The Wintersmith is going well. Some lovely playing on your part - hope the studio rendition is as strong. One of the pieces put me in mind of the violin played in Charles Stross novels: darkly searing and powerful.

Ever since I saw Steeleye Span around 1970 on a public broadcast, Ive been over the top with celtic music, in particular that wonderful note to note separation and unrushed, imaginative fiddling of yours. I even have taken up the fiddle after many guitar years. Now that youre on youtube I can take masterclasses in bowing. I dont just like your playing. Im a musicophile. I get transported by great players playing great music. Thanks for all your hard work. It gives me a standard to strive toward.
