In the early eighties I began playing with Trevor Watts in two of his bands, 'Moiré Music' and the
'Drum Orchestra'. We also played as a duo and as a trio with Lliam Genockey who had played with
Trevor for many years. My life changed completely at this time in order to accommodate the demands
that the music made on me and at long last I was forced to ask myself the most fundamental question
of all, 'What is Music?'A review of our reunion gig in Islington.

Whilst living in America, I recorded an album for Shanachie Records entitled 'An Ancient Cause'. The music was a combination of written and improvised and I was joined by Tim Harries on bass and keyboards.
I returned to England after spending nearly four years in the States and it was suggested that Danny Thompson and I should record something together. I had toured with Danny and his band on the A38 project. There are two pieces of music on the album, simply entitled 'Number One' and 'Number Two' which were the first two pieces we played. We explored a few possibilities over the next couple of days, both wishing for more, yet knowing that we held the prize.

Through working with Danny I was asked to play with him and Richard Thompson on the Industry album. A great album and great arrangements by Tony Roberts. Tony is one of my all time favourite musicians and I just happen to have a pic.

I spent a couple of years building a studio with the view to recording and releasing my own albums. I felt that in order to capture on tape some of those rare moments when the music is at its most free, I would need to create the perfect environment. During the Summer of '98, I worked alone in my studio recording improvisations on violin and keyboards. Later that year I released 'The Gemini Cadenza'.
